Solar Panel Expiration
Solar panels are a huge source of renewable, clean energy. Solar energy is pollution-free and emits zero greenhouse gas after installation.
At Echo Environmental, we work with many of the largest solar manufacturers, installers, EPC, O&M’s, and energy companies in North America. These companies know that we provide truly green solutions to help reduce their carbon footprint by keeping solar materials out of landfills. We realize the value of the entire solar life cycle.
Echo can help your business make a more positive environmental impact and reduce the risk of non-compliance.
The Problem
Solar panels are composed of photovoltaic (PV) cells that convert sunlight to electricity. When these panels enter landfills, valuable resources go to waste. Landfilling also creates new environmental hazards because solar panels contain toxic materials like lead. Only about 10 percent of this technology is being recycled. The rest is landfilled or exported overseas to developing countries with weak environmental protections or processed by sham recyclers who recover the aluminum and landfill the valuable glass and PV.
Our Solution
Solar panel manufacturers, and the solar industry in general, have a responsibility to make a positive environmental impact on the planet, and Echo can help! Rather than ending up in landfills, recycling solar panels gives them a second life. Important materials can be recovered, such as glass, aluminum, silver, copper, and other commodities. Echo is a knowledgeable recycler with the appropriate processes, equipment, and certifications to help you with your recycling needs.
Our Process
Save Money, Energy, and Natural Resources
Echo Environmental can take excess, surplus, used, and liquidated solar equipment including modules, laminates, inverters, charge controllers, solar glass, frames and more. B and C Grade modules from solar manufacturing processes are also welcome.
